Most commercial dog food brands lack omega-3 fatty acids. If they are present, then they are vegetable flaxseed or rapeseed oil. But like humans, dogs can barely convert plant-based omega-3 (alpha-linolenic acid) to EPA and DHA. In addition, dog food may contain a lot of omega-6 fatty acids (sunflower or corn oil). Store in a cool (max. 25°C) and dry place, away from light, do not freeze. Shelf life is 2 years before opening. Store in the refrigerator and consume preferably within 45 days after opening.
